Biden is calling on the House to consider the foreign aid package and approve it quickly.

On February 13, 2024, the Senate passed a $95 billion foreign aid package that includes assistance to Ukraine and Israel. President Biden called on House Republicans to bring the bill to the floor for a vote, stating that it would pass if given the chance. He urged House Speaker Mike Johnson to not let a minority of extreme voices block the bill’s progress. The president emphasized the importance of the bill, which provides critical funding for Ukraine to defend itself against Russian aggression. He also highlighted the bipartisan support for the package and the message it sends to America’s allies that they can trust and rely on the United States. President Biden warned that failure to support Ukraine at this crucial moment would have lasting consequences. He also criticized former President Trump for his recent comments about not protecting NATO allies, stating that it gives Putin an invitation to invade. The president urged the House to stand up to the Kremlin by supporting the bill, rather than playing into Putin’s hands.
