Trump is questioning why Haley’s husband who is deployed is not on the campaign trail.

Former president Donald Trump raised questions about the whereabouts of former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley’s husband during a rally in South Carolina on Saturday. Maj. Michael Haley, who is currently deployed with the South Carolina National Guard, has been away since last June. This is his second deployment with the Army in Africa.

Haley immediately responded to Trump’s attacks during her own rally in Lexington, South Carolina, calling on him to have the courage to say things to her face instead of behind her back. She also defended her husband’s military service and reiterated her belief in the need for mental competency tests for politicians over the age of 75.

In a rare move, Michael Haley directly responded to Trump’s attacks on social media, posting a photo with a caption that highlighted the difference between humans and animals.

Haley often mentions her husband’s deployment in her campaign speeches, emphasizing the sacrifices made by military families. She has also called for more recognition and support for veterans.

Former first lady Melania Trump has not been seen on the campaign trail with her husband since November 2022, when he announced his third bid for the White House.
