Tucker Carlson is set to conduct an interview with Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Tucker Carlson, a former Fox News commentator, announced on Tuesday that he will be interviewing Russian President Vladimir Putin. He stated that he will be the first person from Western media to do so since the start of Moscow’s invasion into Ukraine nearly two years ago, although the Kremlin disputed this claim. In a statement posted on social media, Carlson explained that it is his duty as a journalist to inform people and that Western governments will likely try to censor the interview. The Kremlin has confirmed that the interview will take place and will be posted on Carlson’s website. Carlson had been seen in Moscow and hinted at a possible interview with Putin during a discussion with a Russian reporter. The Kremlin declined to comment on the speculation. Carlson also criticized Western media for misleading their audience about the war in Ukraine, stating that they often do so through omission. He has a history of praising Putin and criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Russian state television. Recently, Russian state media has used Carlson’s claims of unfair prosecution against former President Donald Trump to cast doubt on American institutions and political leaders. Putin has also used these claims to criticize the American political system.
